Our Rumpl Artist Division (R.A.D.) program has long been a platform for showcasing artists, photographers, and designers on our one-of-a-kind canvas.

These programs are limited in nature and celebrate creative expression in all its forms.

Siobhan O’Dwyer is a digital artist whose work focuses on florals and super blooms around the California Coast, Siobhan combines her bold photography and digital illustration to create vibrant, unique collages that reflect her emotions and memories of the colorful West Coast landscape.

We sat down with Siobhan to learn more about her journey, her inspirations and the story behind Superbloom.

What’s your name, where are you from, and what do you do?

  • My name is Siobhán O'Dwyer I am originally from New York, and I am a digital artist.

What drew you to Iceland? What made you want to stay there?

I'd say my big love for nature is the driver behind what I create. I've always been an artist in one way or another, growing up as a serious competitive dancer (my first love), so I've always utilized that artistic outlet to sort of pour myself into it 100% – all emotions.

Inspiration is key when it comes to creating for me - being out in nature, photography (I love film and seek inspo from so many different photographers), poetry, painters, music, trends & fashion from the past (nostalgia in general inspires me so much), my own life experiences, my emotions… my list is endless!

  • You have a really unique medium combining photography and digital design. Tell us more about the process of creating a piece.

  •
  • Thanks so much! I create my digital artworks using a collage technique by overlaying my photographs and blending florals. My works vary in that some may have up to 30 different layers used in one single piece, while others are more simple. It all usually depends on the vision I have in mind before I sit down to create.

  • What about flora draws you in. Tell us about flowers and the role they play in your life and inspiration.

  •

I clearly love flowers [laughs] and I just love the feeling they bring to any photograph. I think what really stoked my interest was how beautiful they were growing so naturally along the California Coast, like an oasis I would dream up, but in real life. I didn't think it could be possible.

  •
  •

I always think flowers in any photo just light up the image - with color and emotion – and in a quirky way I feel like I can relate to them personally (I feel like I sound like “Alice in Wonderland” saying all of this - that story has inspired a lot of my work)

  • Tell us about your passions and how they transfer to your work.

  •
  • As mentioned before, dance will always be my first true passion in life, so to this day it plays a huge role in my artwork. Reading, music—I go to a lot of live music events— film photography, fashion, my own feelings. I pour all of these loves of mine into the work you see which makes each piece of special. There's so much that goes on behind each work that most wouldn't know unless I explained.

What was it like bringing your art to life on Rumpl’s blankets? What was the theme and inspiration around your Rumpl design?

It's honestly so special to see my work on Rumpl's blankets. I love what Rumpl stands for and feel we align so well and so naturally, which has made this entire experience so seamless and fun when working with them!

My theme on Rumpl's blankets is Superbloom, inspired by the beautiful California landscapes in the springtime. The piece collaged from a superbloom with hopes that we'll be able to see something like that happen again very soon!

  • What’s the best bit of advice you’ve ever received?
  • Gosh, this is an important question to me and it's something I could talk about all day. To touch on one bit of advice, I think it's that truly loving what you do and believing in it is where you'll find success. I feel like true success never comes from doing anything quickly, half-heartedly, etc. It may take time, or even lots of time, but 100% showing up for your work and for yourself, and keeping that consistent is key to getting where you want.

What’s blooming in 2025 for you?

A lot! This time of year and looking ahead, there is always something really exciting to look forward to when it comes to my work. I’m staying busy, filling my time with new things, and finding so much inspiration around me. I couldn't love this time of year more. So much excitement is coming!
