Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Original Puffy Blanket?

It's the blanket that started it all. Built for backyard hangs, beach bonfires, festival fields, and sideline seats. It's the most versatile blanket we make. It comes in Mini, Compact Throw, 1-Person, and 2-Person; the 1-Person is 52 x 75 inches and packs to 7 x 16 inches.

How do I choose the right Rumpl size?

Most people want the 1-Person (52 x 75 in), which covers one adult head to toe. Choose 2-Person (84 x 80 in) for sharing or for the bed, Compact Throw (38 x 52 in) for kids, travel, the car, or the office, and Mini (28 x 40 in) for pets and little kids. The GameTime Puffy comes in Stadium (50 x 70 in), a true throw size. See the size guide

What's the difference between the Original Puffy and the Backcountry Puffy?

The Original is the blanket that started it all: 2.2 lbs in 1-Person, packs to 7 x 16 inches, and comes in the most prints and sizes. The Backcountry is built for cold nights and packing light: 20% warmer, 1.76 lbs, packs to 5.9 x 14.2 inches, and adds a tougher 50D liner and a stash pocket. It also replaced our Down Puffy.

How warm is a Puffy Blanket?

A 1-Person Puffy should keep you plenty warm in 45°F weather and above. The Backcountry Puffy is our warmest and the Travel Puffy our lightest. For colder nights, layer two blankets or step up to the Wrap Sack 20° Sleeping Bag.

Are Rumpl blankets waterproof?

Our Puffy Blankets are water-resistant, not waterproof. A PFAS-free DWR finish makes spills, dew, and light rain bead up and roll off, but heavy rain or soaked ground will eventually get through.

Are Rumpl blankets machine washable?

Almost all of them. Wash cold on gentle in a front-loading washer with a performance wash, then hang dry or tumble dry with no heat (low is OK). Skip machines with an agitator. The one exception is the Merino SoftWool Blanket, which is dry clean only.

Do Rumpl blankets come with a warranty?

Yes. Every Rumpl blanket is covered by The Rumpl Guarantee, our 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects like stitching failures, fabric flaws, and Cape Clip® or zipper problems. Bought it somewhere other than Rumpl.com? Register it within 30 days.
