We utilize new material technologies that have been developed for activewear and outdoor gear to modernize the everyday blanket. We make blankets for everywhere; we care as much about the hardcore mountain climber as we do about the off-and-on jogger. MARKETING DIRECTOR

OVERVIEW

Seize a unique opportunity to hold a Director‐level role at one of the fastest‐growing and forward‐thinking brands in Portland, Oregon. At Rumpl you will find a fast‐paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment at the intersection of outdoor, action sports, lifestyle and fashion.

The Director of Marketing will be expected to inspire, lead and grow a Marketing team for Rumpl’s global business
with primary focus on leading the development and execution of a global Go‐To‐Market plan. This position is a key
member of the executive team and contributor to the overall strategy, growth and success of the company. You will
develop and execute marketing plans that support our revenue channels, customers, categories, geographies and chosen platforms to deliver increased revenue and enhanced profitability for the business.

You are a storyteller, a strategist through design, and an advocate for the creative process. You are results‐focused,
very organized, and a skilled planner who loves to build narratives which communicate the core essence of the
brand and its products. Your holistic vision will drive demand across all sales channels and cement Rumpl as the
global leader in our emerging category. Even though you are a Director and your primary focus is strategy, you love
rolling up your sleeves and putting pen to paper. This position will have significant cross‐functional influence,
contributing to a cohesive brand evolution across all departments.

  RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy, Leadership and Execution

● Most senior role in the Marketing department— Responsible for all brand and product marketing strategy company‐wide and responsible for its successful tactical execution.
● Develop and execute go‐to‐market strategies for all product and brand initiatives across all sales channels and consumer touchpoints.
● Manage the recruiting, training, and development of the entire Marketing department.
● Build and enhance the marketing team’s functional capabilities and performance through regular performance discussions, 1:1 meetings and development plans.
● Cement Rumpl as a brand that intimately understands its customers. Have a finger on the pulse of fringe details that verify authenticity with core consumers. Strategize and own a customer acquisition funnel that is fueled by original creativity.


Analysis and Goal‐setting

● Gather data/insights from each initiative and work with key stakeholders to streamline/optimize efforts accordingly. Set well‐defined KPIs, reporting each effort’s efficacy and efficiency during and after execution.
● Monitor trends in competitive and consumer landscape.
● Oversee the tracking, analysis and interpretation of the competitive landscape to identify brand advancement opportunities.


Collaboration and Cross‐functional Involvement

● Partner with Product team to determine product launch priorities and product marketing needs.
● Partner with Sales team to develop channel strategies and drive growth at key customers, including implications for pricing and assortment, evaluate channel specific needs, identify business opportunities, and track SKU distribution and performance.
● Work collaboratively with Sales team to help develop collateral materials that help the Sales function generate orders.
● Spearhead the development of national and retailer specific marketing programs, driving brand recognition and product education at retail.
● Work closely with creative teams (in‐house or agency) to produce company‐wide creative output across all mediums, including digital, print, in‐store, events, and much more.
● Manage a digital agency that currently runs all Rumpl SEO, PPC, Social, and display advertising. Set the strategy for the agency and ensure they are achieving exceptional results. Push boundaries of innovation for partners, creative executions, and communication formats across all channels.
● Lead and execute PR and media outreach efforts, in conjunction with external resources, to drive earned media.
● Lead marketing team to develop marketing standards and tool kits to enable international partners to build the brands in their markets.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements For Consideration
● Master strategizer and executor
● You must have a deep understanding the Brand DNA and strategic vision.
● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent
● 7‐10 years of consumer brand, retail, or product marketing experience gained through agency or in‐house
● Apparel / Outdoor / Sporting Goods / Consumer Goods / Global / Multi‐Channel experience preferred
● Demonstrated connection to the product, values, lifestyle and brand ethos of Rumpl
● You must be able to roll up your sleeves and get things done with attention to detail as both an individual contributor or as a manager.
● Proven ability to manage timelines and lead high‐performing teams
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Must be extremely organized, able to work simultaneously on a diverse range of projects across multiple seasons in a dynamic work environment that is nimble and responsive to business opportunities.
