HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR RUMPL

USE

Use your blanket everywhere, but try to stay away from sharp or hot objects. If you do get a tear or small burn hole, use a fabric tape such as Tenacious Tape™ to patch before the tear can spread.

STORAGE

While the compression of the blanket is allowed and encouraged, storing your blanket in the stuff sack for long periods of time can decrease the loft of the insulation and cause the blanket to be less warm. When storing, make sure the blanket is dry and wiped clean before packing away. Periodically take the blanket out of the stuff sack and give it some air to maintain loft and prevent odor build up.

WASHING

Rumpl blankets are designed to shed dirt and odor, however periodic washing is still needed for optimal performance. Use cold water and a non-detergent soap such as Granger's Wash and Repel or Granger's Down Wash and Repel. Only wash your Rumpl in a front load washing machine and do not dry clean.

DRYING

Air/line drying is encouraged, but you can use a standard drying machine with the heat turned off. Warning - too much heat can melt the fabric and insulation.

MAINTENANCE

Your blanket could be soaking up water because the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) has been compromised by dirt, or because it has been cleaned with a conventional laundry detergent. Dirt attracts water and household detergents leave water-attracting (hydrophilic) residues, leading to fabric 'wetting out' in wet or damp conditions. We suggest using a combination of a tech wash and a wash-in-water repellent to revitalize your blanket to its original condition.
