The high country of Colorado.

2. What moment made you realize you wanted to do this professionally?

I was in graduate school in a PhD program for Neuroscience and Physiology. I wanted to be a scientist my whole life, but after 17 years of schooling and feeling burnt out, I found trail running. At first it was a hobby, but after I started racing and started winning, I found I had a passion for it. When I got offered a trial sponsorship with The North Face for a year, I knew I had to take a chance and see if it could go somewhere. I told myself I'd give it a year and see how it goes - that was back in 2015.
